Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure

StoryNative.uk is operated by Strait Line Media Ltd., a private company limited by shares registered in Gibraltar (company number 129570). This page explains how the publication is funded, how affiliate links work, where disclosures appear, and how commercial relationships are managed. Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Cole oversees editorial standards and ensures that advertising never influences our journalism, as set out in our Editorial Policy.

Who is responsible for StoryNative.uk and how is the site funded?

Strait Line Media Ltd. owns and operates StoryNative.uk, with editorial leadership provided by Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Cole. The publication is funded through multiple revenue streams: display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. Full details about our ownership and funding structure are available in our Ownership & Funding statement.

All commercial material is clearly labelled, and sponsored content is governed by a separate Sponsored Content Policy. Commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions; our journalists retain full independence.

What are affiliate links and how are they disclosed on StoryNative.uk?

Affiliate links are special URLs that allow StoryNative.uk to earn a small commission if a reader clicks through and makes a purchase. We use these links in articles where we recommend products, services, or entertainment-related items — such as streaming subscriptions, books, or film merchandise.

Each article containing affiliate links includes a clear disclosure at the top or bottom of the piece, stating: “This article contains affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you make a purchase.” Additional disclosures may appear directly next to individual links. Our affiliate relationships are managed entirely separately from editorial decision-making; no retailer or brand can pay for coverage or influence the content of a story.

All affiliate income is reported in our annual transparency reports, and any changes to our affiliate practices will be communicated here. Readers with questions about a specific affiliate link should contact affiliate@storynative.uk.

Does advertising ever control editorial conclusions?

No. The editorial and advertising teams at StoryNative.uk are operationally separate. No advertiser, sponsor, or partner has any control over the topics we cover, the angles we take, or the conclusions we reach. This principle is enshrined in our Editorial Policy, which all staff must follow.

Display advertising appears on the site through programmatic networks and direct placements. These advertisements are clearly distinguished from editorial content by borders, backgrounds, or the label “Advertisement”. Our editorial team, led by Managing Editor Adam Pryor, never sees advertiser requests before publication. Similarly, our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead Patrick Nolan reviews all content to ensure no commercial influence has crept into news or features.

Sponsored content — such as a partner-funded article or newsletter — is always marked with “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership” at the top. The Sponsored Content Policy governs these posts and requires that they are written or edited by our editorial team, with final approval from Vanessa Cole. Sponsored pieces never carry our journalists’ bylines unless they have fully reported the story independently.

How can I enquire about advertising, affiliate partnerships, or commercial collaborations?

All commercial enquiries are handled by dedicated teams. For display advertising and programmatic partnerships, contact advertising@storynative.uk. For affiliate programme queries, contact affiliate@storynative.uk. For general commercial partnerships, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing, contact partnerships@storynative.uk. Our publisher and compliance teams are also reachable via publisher@storynative.uk and legal@storynative.uk.

We welcome proposals that align with our audience of UK entertainment fans. All commercial agreements are subject to our compliance review, and we do not accept advertising that contradicts our editorial standards — for example, content that promotes misinformation, hate speech, or unsubstantiated health claims.
