StoryNative.uk is operated by Strait Line Media Ltd., a private company limited by shares registered in Gibraltar (company number 129570), with its registered office at Suite 21 Portland House, Glacis Road, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. This page explains how to submit an editorial complaint about content published on StoryNative.uk and how we handle such complaints. We treat each complaint seriously, and our process is designed to be transparent, fair, and prompt.
Who is responsible for handling complaints at StoryNative.uk?
Editorial complaints are initially reviewed by Patrick Nolan, our Standards & Fact‑Checking Lead. For more serious matters, the Editor‑in‑Chief Vanessa Cole oversees the final decision. Both are reachable via the complaints address and can escalate issues as needed.
Patrick Nolan (patrick.nolan@storynative.uk, +44 20 4587 9446) leads fact‑checking and source verification, and he manages the complaints workflow. If the complaint concerns a significant breach of our Editorial Policy or celebrity privacy standards, it will be reviewed by Vanessa Cole (vanessa.cole@storynative.uk, +44 20 4587 9441). Strait Line Media Ltd., as the publisher, is ultimately accountable for all content on StoryNative.uk.
How do I submit a complaint?
Send your editorial complaint by email to complaints@storynative.uk. You must include: the full article URL, the publication date, a clear explanation of why you believe the content is inaccurate or problematic, the specific statement or passage you challenge, any supporting evidence, and your name and contact details.
Anonymous complaints may not be investigated unless the issue raises a clear public‑interest concern. If you are unable to email, you can also submit your complaint via our general Contact page, marking it for the attention of the Complaints team. Please be as precise as possible to help us assess your concerns quickly.
What happens after I submit a complaint?
We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within five working days. During that time, we may ask for additional information or evidence. The Standards & Fact‑Checking Lead will then investigate, consulting the relevant editor or reporter as needed.
If the complaint is straightforward and relates to a factual error, we may issue a correction and direct you to our Corrections Policy. For more complex matters, such as allegations of bias, privacy breaches, or editorial misconduct, we will provide a full written response within 20 working days, explaining our findings and any actions taken. If the complaint requires further time, we will notify you and provide an updated timeline.
How is a complaint different from a correction request or a privacy concern?
A complaint about a specific factual error should be directed to our corrections process, detailed in the Corrections Policy. Privacy concerns, including requests related to celebrity coverage or your own personal data, are handled under separate policies.
For privacy issues, please refer to our Privacy Policy and our Celebrity Privacy Policy. If your concern overlaps between accuracy and privacy, we will determine the most appropriate procedure. The complaints procedure is intended for editorial judgement matters – such as fairness, balance, or potential violation of our Editorial Policy – and not for routine factual corrections.
What if I am not satisfied with the outcome?
If you are unhappy with the initial response, you can escalate your complaint to the Editor‑in‑Chief Vanessa Cole. She will review the case personally and provide a final decision. There is no external regulator for our Gibraltar‑registered company, but we are committed to the highest editorial standards.
Vanessa Cole can be contacted directly at vanessa.cole@storynative.uk or via the Contact page. Please mention your original complaint reference number and explain why you believe the response was inadequate. Her decision is final within StoryNative.uk, and we will inform you in writing within 15 working days of the escalation.
