Corrections Policy

StoryNative.uk is committed to correcting significant errors in our showbiz and entertainment journalism promptly and transparently. This Corrections Policy outlines how we handle mistakes, how you can report them, and what standards guide our editorial team.

Who is responsible for corrections at StoryNative.uk?

Patrick Nolan, Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, oversees all corrections at StoryNative.uk. He leads a dedicated standards desk within Strait Line Media Ltd., the Gibraltar-registered company (number 129570) that operates the publication. Patrick reviews every reported error, coordinates with the relevant editor, and ensures the correction meets our editorial standards before publication.

Strait Line Media Ltd. is a private company limited by shares registered in Gibraltar with its registered office at Suite 8, Leanse Place, 50 Town Range, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. The publication’s day-to-day operations remain editorially independent, and commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. For full details on our structure, see Ownership & Funding.

How do I report an error?

Email corrections@storynative.uk with the subject line “Correction Request” and include the article headline, the specific error, and the correct information if known. Provide the URL of the article and your contact details so we can follow up if needed. You may also reference the page date and the nature of the error.

For complaints about editorial conduct beyond factual errors, please use our Complaints Procedure. For fact-checking queries not involving a published error, refer to our Fact-Checking Policy.

What happens after I submit a correction request?

We acknowledge receipt of your correction request within five working days. The standards desk, led by Patrick Nolan, then reviews the claim against our sources, editorial notes, and published evidence. If the error is confirmed as material, we proceed with updating the article and adding a correction note.

In cases where the request does not meet our threshold for a material error – for example, minor typographical issues that do not affect meaning – we may still correct them silently but will explain our reasoning if requested. All significant changes are logged internally.

How are significant errors corrected?

For material errors that affect the accuracy or fairness of a story, we update the online article and append a visible correction note at the top or bottom of the page. The note states the date of correction, the original error, and the corrected information. For example: “Correction, 14 March 2025: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated the release date of the film. It has been updated to reflect the correct date of 20 April 2025.”

If the error is fundamental and cannot be resolved through an update, we may retract the article entirely and publish a detailed explanation on the same page or in a new editorial note. All corrections are reviewed by Patrick Nolan before publication.

What if the error is serious?

Serious errors – such as defamatory statements, fabricated quotes, or significant misrepresentations of facts – are escalated to Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Cole. Vanessa personally approves the corrective action and may involve our legal and compliance team via compliance@storynative.uk. In such cases, we act as quickly as possible, typically within 24 hours, and publish a prominent correction or retraction.

Our editorial standards are set out in our Editorial Policy, which all staff and contributors must follow. The policy requires that any substantial factual error be corrected without delay, and that the correction be clearly communicated to readers.

Where can I find more about your editorial and fact-checking standards?

Detailed guidance on how we verify information and maintain accuracy is available in our Fact-Checking Policy. You can also read our full Editorial Policy for the principles that govern our coverage. For information on our team and their roles, visit Our Team.

If you believe a correction has been mishandled or want to appeal a decision, please use our Complaints Procedure, which explains the steps we take to resolve disputes independently.
